The remains of High Rake Mine show the steps taken to keep a mine going in the hope of it becoming a huge success. From the early workings to more ambitious attempts to overcome flooding problems so inherent in any mining project. From the first capstan gin to the last Cornish beam engine.

The site has free access and the works and site signage have all been supported and donated through the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire County Council and the Peak District Mines Historical Society.
